The Fine Print for Your Fine Bakes

By confirming your booking with Taupō Cake Co, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are designed to ensure the best possible experience and the highest quality results for your celebration.

1. Pricing & Payments

Quotes

Following our chat, your quote is valid for 7 days.

Payment in Full

All custom and themed cake/cupcake orders must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to your collection or delivery date. Your booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received.

Short Notice Orders

Orders placed within 2 weeks of the required collection or delivery date are considered short notice and must be paid in full at the time of ordering before work will begin.

Value

My prices reflect the high standard of craftsmanship and premium ingredients used. Prices are non-negotiable and I do not price-match.

2. Cancellations & Changes

Cancellations

All cancellations are subject to approval.

  • Within 2 weeks of date: Non-refundable.

  • More than 2 weeks’ notice: Store credit may be offered at my discretion.

Design Changes

Please check your quote carefully! I will try to accommodate changes where possible, but if work has already begun or costs are affected, your balance will be adjusted. Changes are requested to be in writing.

Artistic License

As every cake is handmade, variations from reference images can occur. I reserve the right to adjust design elements to ensure structural integrity or quality.

3. Acceptance of Design

The Handover

Upon collection, you (or your designated person) will be shown the cake. Once the cake leaves my premises, it is considered accepted.

Concerns

If you have any concerns regarding the design, please raise them at the time of pick-up so I can rectify them where possible. No refunds will be provided for design elements (style, colour, etc.) after the cake has been collected.

4. Quality & Refunds

Inspection

Refunds regarding the baking or quality of the cake are subject to my assessment. A reasonable portion of the cake must be returned for inspection for any refund to be considered.

Store Credit

Any refunds issued will be provided as store credit only.

5. Allergies & Dietary Requirements

Trace Allergens

While I can provide gluten-free, egg-free, or nut-free options, please note that these ingredients are used in my kitchen. While I take every care to avoid cross-contamination, I cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment.

Inedible Items

Some cakes contain structural supports (dowels), wires in sugar flowers, or ribbons. It is your responsibility to ensure these are removed before serving.

6. Delivery & Transport

Condition

By booking delivery, you accept that the cake leaves my kitchen in perfect condition. I am not liable for damage during transit unless caused directly by the driver.

Collection

Once the cake is in your possession, Taupō Cake Co is no longer responsible for damage. Please transport cakes on a flat surface (the floor of the car is best) and avoid heat.

Heat Damage

Heat damage (especially during summer) is not refundable. Ensure someone is available to receive deliveries promptly.

7. Storage & Serving

Freshness

My cakes are made with natural ingredients and no preservatives. They are best enjoyed within 48 hours.

Temperature

While cakes are shelf-stable in a cool cupboard, I recommend refrigeration for the best visual results. Always remove the cake from the fridge 1–2 hours before serving to let the buttercream soften.

Portions

My portion guide is an estimate based on standard Dessert serving size (2 inch x 1 inch) or Wedding serving size (1 inch x 1 inch). Actual yield depends on how the cake is cut.

8. Photos & Promotion

I reserve the right to photograph my creations and use these images for marketing on my website or social media. If your cake is for a surprise or you’d prefer it stay private, just let me know!

9. The Legal Stuff

Force Majeure

In circumstances beyond my control (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.), refunds will not be provided.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Taupo Social Media Co — Terms & Conditions

1. General

By engaging the services of Taupo Social Media Co, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

These terms are designed to ensure clear communication, fair expectations, and a positive working relationship between both parties.

2. Services

Services may include but are not limited to:

  • Social media management

  • Content creation

  • Photography & video content

  • Reel editing

  • Caption writing

  • Scheduling

  • Brand support

  • Strategy sessions

  • Social media coaching

All services are tailored to each client’s individual needs and agreed scope of work.

3. AI Assisted Tools

Taupo Social Media Co may utilise AI-assisted tools and software to support aspects of content creation, copywriting, brainstorming, editing, design assistance, scheduling, and workflow efficiency.

All final content is reviewed, refined, and approved by me (Abi) prior to delivery or publishing.

Client information, branding, and business details will be treated respectfully and used only as required to deliver agreed services.

4. Discovery Calls & Coaching Sessions

Discovery calls are obligation-free unless otherwise stated.

Coaching sessions are skill-based educational sessions only and do not include ongoing management, content creation, or implementation services unless agreed separately.

5. Onboarding & Strategy Package

The onboarding/setup package is a one-off service designed to establish the initial content direction and strategy for your business.

This fee is non-refundable once work has commenced.

6. Payment Terms

Invoices must be paid by the due date stated on the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Ongoing monthly services may require upfront payment prior to work commencing.

Late payments may result in paused services until accounts are brought up to date.

7. Content Approval

Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving content prior to posting where approval processes are in place.

Taupo Social Media Co is not responsible for errors once content has been approved by the client.

8. Access to Accounts

Clients may be required to provide access to social media accounts, Meta Business Suite, scheduling platforms, or other relevant systems required to perform agreed services.

All login information will be handled confidentially.

9. Turnaround Times

Turnaround times may vary depending on workload, project scope, and client responsiveness.

Clients are encouraged to provide content, feedback, and approvals promptly to avoid delays.

10. Cancellations & Ongoing Services

Ongoing service packages may be cancelled with 14 days written notice unless otherwise agreed.

Any work already completed or scheduled prior to cancellation remains payable.

11. Intellectual Property & Portfolio Use

Content created by Taupo Social Media Co may be used for portfolio and promotional purposes unless otherwise requested in writing by the client.

Final approved content supplied to the client may be used by the client for their business marketing purposes.

Taupo Social Media Co may also reference or share general business growth results, engagement insights, analytics, or success metrics achieved through provided services for promotional or portfolio purposes. No sensitive business information will be shared without permission.

12. Results Disclaimer

While every effort is made to support business growth and improve online presence, Taupo Social Media Co cannot guarantee specific results including sales, engagement, followers, or enquiries.

Social media performance can vary depending on industry, market conditions, consistency, advertising spend, and platform algorithms.

13. Respectful Communication

Taupo Social Media Co reserves the right to cease services where communication becomes abusive, inappropriate, or unreasonable.

14. Changes to Terms

These terms and conditions may be updated or amended at any time without prior notice.
